Read from our satisfied pet owners

The team are a wonderful, very friendly group of trainers who clearly have a passion for what they do. Both our puppy and us parents learnt a lot from the puppy training class, and we look forward to the obedience classes in the future. Flexible hours and lots of services on offer!

The whole team really took the time to get to know our dog’s specific issues and is working closely with us to help us learn the skills to give our dog the sense of security she needs when on our daily walks.

We took our 7 month old border terrier to the obedience class… he came such a long way in the 6 week course and we noticed a massive difference in his training. Thanks for teaching us and our puppy so much!
The MDT difference
At Melbourne Dog Trainers, we look at the entire picture, including age, breed, temperament, physiology, diet, environment and ability.
We then develop and implement a plan that addresses the underlying cause of an issue rather than the consequential result. Once we’ve identified the cause, we take a two-pronged approach to solving the issue
To form a strong dog-owner relationship and create a long-term change in behaviour, it’s important to build a dog’s trust and confidence. The most effective way to do this is through the science-based approach of reinforcement, rewards and the appropriate withholding of rewards.
All of the Melbourne Dog Trainers team are required to keep their qualifications and skills current.
We utilise up to date animal training concepts and methods always setting the animal up for success and providing choice, encouragement and ample opportunities to learn well.
Our training styles achieve real, lasting results by utilising proven force-free and fear-free methods without intimidation or harm.
