Yes definitely! We encourage the whole family to take part in the training process. This is a great time to get your kids involved in learning how to help build the foundation skills for a calm, confident, resilient member of your family. Generally, two people (per dog) is easy to accommodate for indoor puppy classes, if you wish to bring more please contact the office prior to class to ensure there’s space. Outdoor group classes and private consultations do not have capacity limits.
Puppy Pre-School:
You are permitted one ‘make-up’ class if you notify us in advance that you are unable to attend. Full fee cancellation policy applies to all training with less than one business day’s notice.
Adolescent Class and Skills and Obedience:
Classes progress sequentially from Week 1 to Week 4. Unfortunately there is no option for a ‘make-up’ class in this course.
To cancel or reschedule training please contact the Office on 03 8609 9700 or email bookings@melbournedogtrainers.com.au
Cancellation of more than 2 business day’s notice: refundable less the $22 booking fee.

All dogs onsite are required to be up to date with their vaccinations. If your puppy has had its first vaccination more than one week prior and is on schedule for the rest of its vaccination program, you can attend group Puppy Pre-School at Melbourne Dog Trainers locations.
Some puppies may not be old enough to have completed their entire course but given the risk vs benefit matrix, it is acceptable to still attend training with other vaccinated puppies in safe environments. All Melbourne Dog Trainers locations are disinfected daily and treated with veterinary grade antiviral before all puppy classes as an extra precaution. If you are concerned, the American Veterinary Society has some great information regarding socialising puppies before they are fully vaccinated: Puppy Socialization Position Statement
Puppies have a once in a lifetime chance to get the most of their “critical development phase” (3-16 weeks of age). This period has the greatest impact on future social behaviour and any experiences at this time will mold their future selves. Puppy Pre-School is appropriate for pups from 9 weeks to 15 weeks old at the time of enrolment. Providing your puppy is up to date with their vaccinations, your puppy should be protected sufficiently to attend classes. Puppy Socialization Position Statement
No, it’s never too late to teach an old dog new tricks! We welcome all breeds, temperaments and ages to our training classes. We have an array of different training classes and private sessions to suit all needs.
Puppy Pre-School and Private Consultations at Woofers World (Ormond) or Dog Dazzlers (Burwood) are all done indoors. All other training is done outdoors, so please dress appropriately for the weather conditions.
Our Training Director reserves the right to reschedule an appointment in hazardous situations that may pose a risk to animals or handlers. (e.g. extreme heat, lightning/storms etc).
